How to Play Winter Sports and Still Look Great
Winter brings with it all kinds of fun outdoor activities- skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides. When the seasons change, your skin care routine needs to change too.
Remember, the sun can still burn you in the winter, especially when light reflects off surfaces like snow. So wear sunglasses or goggles to protect your eyes.
So you should practice good skin care tips in the winter months, too.
Your hair and skin make up the first line of defense from the elements. To keep them in tip-top shape this winter, use sunscreen every day.
Keep your skin well moisturized, and switch to creamier lotions and moisturizers. Look for ones containing ceramides, hyaluronic acid, oatmeal or chamomile.
Don't forget your lips: use heavy, petroleum-jelly based lip balms. Apply after gently exfoliating away any flakes. Keep your lips well protected; reapply lip balm often. Do not lick your lips, as your saliva will evaporate and this will leave your lips unprotected and more prone to cracking and bleeding.
Take care of your hair, too. Keep it well trimmed, condition regularly, and keep your hair moist to prevent static and flyaways. Apply leave in conditioner often, and only use a wide tooth comb to separate strands. Don't pull or tug.
These tips will keep you looking great while you enjoy all the fun that winter has to offer.
