Summer Can Dry Out Your Skin.
Good skin care is based, first, on good hydration. Our skin needs adequate moisture to maintain its protective barrier and to look good.
All the joys of summer: travel, exercise, swimming pools, and the heat can take their toll on skin.
Traveling by air or car increases the risks of dry skin. In airplanes, the air is recirculated and kept very dry- as your itchy eyes and parched face will attest after a few hours in the air. Similarly, air conditioning can cool down a hot car, but it also takes moisture from your skin while it does so.
Sunscreens can irritate skin, and traveling in lesser developed countries can expose skin to previously unknown, harmful irritants.
A shielding lotion is a good way to protect and restore the skin's natural defenses- keeping your skin well hydrated and functioning smoothly.
If you plan to travel a lot this summer, or will be spending a lot of time in the sun or the pool, be sure to use adequate sun protection and consider a shielding lotion to keep your skin in top shape.
